Wayne W. Dyer: "You'll See It When You Believe It"

This will be a series of postings regarding quotes from, and my thoughts on, the great book titled "You'll See It When You Believe It" by Wayne W. Dyer. Unless followed by another name, the quotes are from Wayne.

Introduction
I love how Wayne begins this book, making reference to water, how you must experience it - drink it, get wet, etc. - and not just read the word in order to understand its full meaning.  The same goes for the ideas that can lead to personal transformation.

"Man's mind, stretched to a new idea, never goes back to its original dimension." - Oliver Wendell Holmes

"...transformation comes with knowing deep within you that each and every human being is far more than a physical body, and that the essence of being human includes the ability to think and feel, to posess a high consciousness, and to know that there is an intelligence suffusing all form in the universe.  You are able to tap into that invisible part of you, to use your mind in any way that you choose, and to recognize that this is your essential humanity."

"...you are a soul with a body, rather than a body with a soul...you are not a human being having a spiritual experience, but rather a spiritual being having a human experience."

"...get very comfortable with opposites like the following...You are both shy and aggressive within the same body.  You are lazy and hardworking. You get the most when you care the least about it.  The tighter you squeeze water, the less you have.  The things that upset us in others are the lessons we have to learn ourselves...The dualism is always there."

"The most exquisite paradox...as soon as you give it all up, you can have it all...As long as you want power, you can't have it.  The minute you don't want power, you'll have more than you ever dreamed possible." - Ram Dass, "Be Here Now"

So, I guess I'm ready to explore Mr. Dyer's thoughts on personal transformation, since I do recognize that I have room for improvements.  Understanding my dualities, as referenced above, and that I am a spiritual being sounds like a good place to start.
